An anxious visitor needs more certainty than average to act, not less, so vague copy costs anxiety specialists the most.

Why five seconds decides it

Someone with anxiety opens your site already activated, already half-convinced they're a burden, scanning for one thing: is this person safe, and are they for me? “Welcome to my practice” plus your credentials answers neither.

The fix is the first line

Instead of “Welcome,” try: “Therapy in [your city] for adults whose anxiety looks like overthinking, over-functioning, and a mind that won't shut off at night.” It names the person, the experience in their own words, and the place. One sentence does the work a whole page was failing to do.

It matters for AI, too

A growing share of clients ask ChatGPT to build a shortlist, and AI recommends what it can clearly understand. “Anxiety therapist for high-functioning adults in Tampa” is legible. “Compassionate, integrative practice” is not.

Do I have to put “anxiety” in my headline?

Put the lived experience in plain language, not just the diagnosis. “A mind that won't shut off” often lands harder than “generalized anxiety disorder.”
